Day 1: New York Comic Con Takeover
New York Comic Con 2019 has come and gone and I could not have asked for a better experience for my first time in NYC. What was even better than getting to attend the Con was the chance of getting to experience it with my friend, Seth (What’s Poppin) of MCE and the rest of the MCE gang.
Thursday we were going to attack the Con in full force and make sure we were able to do everything we had planned since we only purchased one day tickets. Unfortunately we struck out at the Funko and Entertainment Earth booths since we didn’t win the lotteries but we still made the best of our experience. There were so many cosplayers and new figures and collectibles that were announced. Also, you all know that we can’t go to a con and not dabble in the excitement of a mystery box. Check out the excitement of day 1 below.
Day 2: Just a Geek In the Big City
On Friday, we met up with some great subscribers that would join Seth and I on a Toy Hunt around the city. Big shout-outs to pop_itout_thebox, comicnerd434, diegotheoriginal for reaching out and joining us on the adventure. We ventures out to Midtown Comics, Forbidden Planet, and had to throw a wrench in the plan and take Seth to the local Target and see if we can catch a moment of him turning into the Target Bad Guy. I cashed in on my unofficial New Yorker card and took my first subway ride when we made our way to Brooklyn to visit POPFUZZ, a store owned by fellow collector and YouTuber, PopFun To Play But that’s not all we did on Friday.
As a surprise we were able to get entrances back to the Con on Friday and we made our way to not only to test our luck at the Funko Booth again but to meet up with some fellow YouTubers that were eager to meet up with. Check out who I ran into and our hunt around the city on my Day 2 video below.
I hope you enjoyed the ride that was New York and NYCC 2019. Fingers crossed as we hope that we check off the bucket list wish of attending SDCC 2020 when they open up registrations later this year for first time registrants. Let me know what else you want to see on the site and any ideas for new videos.
Until next time, Keep on Geekin’ On!
